Welcome to NLTS2

Welcome to the Web home of the National Longitudinal Transition Study-2 (NLTS2)! NLTS2 was funded by the U.S. Department of Education and documented the experiences of a national sample of students who were 13 to 16 years of age in 2000 as they moved from secondary school into adult roles. They were 21 to 25 years old at the final data collection in 2009.

Data collection and this study are completed. Thank you to the thousands of teachers, principals, parents, guardians, and young adults who participated in phone interviews, completed mail surveys or participated in assessments during the multiple data collection years of the study. We are indebted to you for contributing your valuable time to provide much needed information. We greatly appreciate your participation and continued support of this important study.
